Bringing prams and buggies is the first thing to talk about… basically Fünf-Seidla-Steig is not entirely suitable for prams along the whole route. However there are some possible variations, if you have to take one. The hike with a pram starts off differently: At the train station in Weißenohe you don`t turn towards the centre of the village (church tower) but head away from it following the signs to the other direction, turning right and then passing the commercial estate and sports grounds – until you reach Gräfenberg .

Here you get many possibilities for a stop in one of the inns – at “Brauereigasthaus Lindenbräu“, „Friedmanns` Bräustüberl” or at “Biergarten zum Bergschlösschen”. But especially for children many more things to do are provided here.

Perhaps you want to split up after lunch and one part of the group wants to hike further on, whereas some parents will accompany the kids for a visit to the TURMUHRENMUSEUM (large size and tower clock museum), the RITTER-WIRNT-MUSEUMSSTÜBCHEN (small museums` parlour of Knight Wirnt) or visiting the Gräfenberg INDOOR– or OUTDOOR-POOL. Also you will find the possiblity for a short beautiful walk OVERLOOKING GRÄFENBERG with kids who are able to walk on their own.

If you continue as a whole group to Thuisbrunn there is the possibility to use the BUS TRANSFER back to Gräfenberg. Also part of the group could use the BUS to rejoin the others again along the route.

If you want to take the pram beyond Gräfenberg toward Hohenschwärz, the actual Fünf-Seidla-Steig-route would not really be recommended. Unfortunately, it would be better use the road until the town exit… 

You only have a half day off and want to experience Fünf-Seidla-Steig for a very brief trip while travelling “Fränkische Schweiz”? Here we introduce 2 examples of feasible and worthwhile parts of the route.
Option 1: Weißenohe – Hohenschwärz, 8 km (circular route back to  Gräfenberg 14 km)
In Hohenschwärz please ask the innkeepers for the feeder path in the direction of Neusles to meet the circular route.
Option 2: Thuisbrunn – Gräfenberg, 6,5 km
For this variation you would have to travel to Thuisbrunn by car or bus. You can either start off with an early get together – maybe having a „Seidla“ and „Weißwurst“ (sausage breakfast – to be ordered in advance).  The direct route takes you to Gräfenberg via Neusles through a beautiful part of the landscape. The time to get to Gräfenberg is about 1.75 hours. Here you can close your hike and take lunch at „Biergarten zum Bergschlösschen“, „Friedmanns` Bräustüberl“ or at „Brauereigasthof Lindenbräu“.
According to the schedules and season you can use a TRANSFER BACK to Thuisbrunn.

• Spring feast on the last weekend of April
• Fair (Kirch­weih) on the 3rd weekend in August; if August has 5 weekends, then on the 4th

…in Weißenohe:

• Lodge feast at the Edelweißhütte (hut) (situated above Weißenohe directly on “Frankenweg” – marked footpath) on Pentecost Sunday and Monday
• Pork feast on Ascension Day
• Fair (Kirch­weih) on the 1st weekend of July
