Trail description

Of course Fünf-Seidla-Steig is marked in both directions – partly with the Frankenweg-sign , so you can start from wherever you wish along the trail. For a transfer back to your starting point there are different possibilities described under GETTING THERE.

The best starting points according to a required distance or trail details – one-way or circular route – would be the Weißenohe train station, Gräfenberg train station or Thuisbrunn village.
We recommend the following route…

Fünf-Seidla-Steig starting in Weißenohe

Bicycles along Fünf-Seidla-Steig
That`s possible, though Fünf-Seidla-Steig is established as a hiking trail. And hikers don´t want to be bothered by cyclists, even if they are a friendly crowd; so we ask you for respect in advance! The best way to start from Weißenohe is mentioned in the below article – you will first end up at Gräfenberg train station. You keep cycling up Bahnhofstraße – great fun! From Gräfenberg “center” to the northern town exit (direction Egloffstein) following the road is appropriate. Meeting the branch to Neusles, you have to choose either going back on the original hiking trail (via crossing the road above the fire brigade) or – according to a seperate hiking and cycling – staying on the small community roads heading for Neusles, Hohenschwärz and Thuisbrunn.
